Trump’s Tulsa rally was more of a flop than his inauguration (from an attendance perspective) with aproximately 6,500 supporters in attendance and expectations of supporters spilling out into the streets.
The prevailing POVs for low attendance include:
- K-Pop-Stans who registered ahead of time but had no intention of attending.
- Some Trump fans with enough common sense to listen to the CDC, WHO, and local health authorities thought better of risking their lives to attend an event where the large majority would be mask-less.
While the K-Pop Stans almost certainly joined with others to register, without planning to attend, inflating the expected attendance, that doesn’t explain actual attendance. Where were the faithful, the base?
Will the next rallies planned for Texas, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina also be a bust? How will they facilitate registration?
The opinions of the K-Pop Stans who juiced up the projected attendance ranges from heroes to snot-nosed disrespectful kids. They didn’t stop anyone from going, so in my opinion, I see it as a flashmob prank. One that made me smile as someone who has built registration platforms for events in the past.
